Autumn is officially here and pumpkin spice season is upon us again. While we are all sipping on Fall flavored lattes, our pups deserve a treat too. Pumpkin is naturally sweet and full of fiber too. Here are some delicious reasons why you should give you punkin' some pumpkin this fall.
Fiber: Full of fiber, a few teaspoons of pure pumpkin puree helps with both diarrhea and constipation. Pumpkin will bulk up loose stools or add moisture when things stop moving. Pumpkin to the rescue!

2. Hydration: Pumpkin adds extra moisture into your dog's diet and helps with a healthier coat and skin. Want your pup to look like they are walking down the runway? Give them baked pumpkin or pumpkin puree for that just groomed look.

3. Antioxidants and nutrients: Full of vitamin A ( for immune system and eye health), vitamin C ( to protect cell health and function) , and vitamin E ( which strengthens the immune system and is an antixodant that protects cells), pumpkin is an all around powerful health punch.

4. Weightloss: Is your pup a little puddgy? Pumpkin is low calorie and can be used to substitute up to a 1/4 of your dog's food if they are over weight. Pumpkin will fill up your dog's tummy and make sure they are never hungry.

*Make sure pumpkin puree is plain, with no added sugar or spices. However, a pinch of cinnamon and a couple drops of pasturized honey may be added for an occasional extra special treat.
